Where Should We Cut $2.34 Billion from State Government Spending?

Fast & Furious Progress: Over 74,893 Signatures Collected

Eight days ago, we had over 51,725 petition signatures. 54% done.

Today, we have over 74,893 petition signatures. 78% done.

We collected 23,168 more signatures in the last 8 days.

We’re running at the edge of our breath. Carla Howell and our petitioners are bringing in signatures ahead of schedule, $68,100 UNDER BUDGET, and with an insanely great signature validity rate of 80%!

We need 21,107 more signatures for this hardest part of our Ballot Initiative to Roll Back the Sales Tax from 6.25% to 3%.

We have 16 days left to collect signatures.

“Shameless, Brazen Appeal for Your Help Now”
by Michael Cloud

189 of you have collected and turned in over 2,683 volunteer signatures. 3.6% of collected signatures.

265 of you have donated money to help pay for the rest of the 74,893 signatures we’ve already collected.

2 of you have loaned us a total of $60,000 from your life savings – so we could continue the petition signature drive.

4.8% of our readers have pitched in and helped.

95.2% of our readers have not.

Are you one of the 95.2% who has NOT donated to get this Tax Roll Back on the Ballot?

I’m not trying to make you feel guilty. I don’t want you to feel obligated or duty-bound to contribute.

But Carla Howell and I have worked hard for these last 10 years to earn your support. To go the extra mile for you.

We consider you friends. We deeply care about you – and your love of liberty and small government.

If you have NOT DONATED, or IF YOU CAN DONATE MORE, we need your best donation today.

This Tax Roll Back Initiative could be the “shot heard ’round the world.” It could be the event that turns around America’s suicidal march toward Bigger and Bigger Big Government.

This is your time. This is your chance. This is your way to make an unforgettable difference.

If you can, will you please donate $5,000 by credit card right now?

Or can you possibly contribute $2,500? Will you, please?

Or will you donate $1,000 or $850?

If you’re middle income like most of us, you might be unsure of how much to give. Most of our middle-income contributors give $250 or $500. Will you please join the other middle income donors and give $250 or $500?

We need 163 donors, giving an average of $250, to pay for our next 96 hours of petition signature turn-ins.

Will you please donate by credit card at our secure server?

Please donate by credit card now.

Or, if you need to donate by check or money order, please send it to:

Where Should We Cut $2.34 Billion from State Government Spending?

Every tax cut must be matched with an equal government spending cut.

When we roll back the sales tax from 6.25% to 3%, we will reduce government revenues by 4.7% — $2.34 Billion a year.

Exactly where should we prune state government spending? Which non-essential spending, which waste should we remove?

We need to make sure that our spending cut proposals total $2.34 billion a year. To match our sales tax roll back.

Should we cut $100+ million in tax benefits to rich Hollywood Movie Corporations and Multimillionaire Movie Stars? Last year, the state government lavished $138.7 million making rich moviemakers richer – at your expense. How much money are they showering Hollywood with this year?

Should we also get rid of the $100 million a year tax-funded subsidy to multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical corporations?

Should we hire civilian flaggers for state highway construction and repair – instead of massively overpaid off-duty cops – and save over $60 million a year?

Should we get state government worker pensions in line with private sector retirement – and save undocumented, unaudited, undisclosed billions of dollars each year?

Where would YOU make cuts? Exactly how much would your cut save?

Have you read about an outrageously wasteful example of Massachusetts state government spending in articles at web sites, magazines, or newspapers?

A column by Howie Carr? By Jeff Jacoby? Michael Graham?

Investigative reporting in your local paper?

Seek it out. Track it down. Dig it out.

Send us the links, facts, and figures.

Help us show as much good judgment in where we’ll cut spending – as state legislators showed their bad judgment when they raised taxes during a recession.

Send us your stuff by replying to this email.
