Nursery Automation Robots

The march of technology goes on. From Wired magazine comes an article outlining how your local nursery (plants not babies) will use robots to make their operations more efficient.

Interesting also is how these jobs – sorting, spacing, and watering new plants – went from jobs largely done by illegal immigrants to robots. This highlights what, in a down economy, is an accelerating trend – the drive toward greater efficiency – doing more with fewer workers.

Expect more robots and automation in the future.
